Pauly, Taylor Show Out At Second Day Of MVC Outdoor Championships

DiamonAsia Taylor set a new personal best with a third-place finish in the high jump on Saturday.
The Murray State women's track and field team finished the second day of the Missouri Valley Outdoor Conference Championships in third place with 44.5 points at the Gibson Track and Field Complex in Terre Haute, Indiana.
Saturday's performance was highlighted by Jenna Pauly winning the women's heptathlon for the second-straight year, setting a new personal best with 5,218 points. The senior's second-place finish with 5.63 meters in the long jump lifted her to the win and giving the Racers 10 points in the team standings.
DiamonAsia Taylor set a new personal best of 1.73 meters in the high jump, finishing third to score six points for Murray State. Meghan Fletcher added five points for MSU after finishing fourth in the same event, and Brooke Probst saw a tie for fifth to score 3 1/2 points.
In the long jump event, Pauly finished third to add another six points to Murray State's total for the day. She jumped a distance of 5.90 meters in the event, just 0.1 meters short of her personal best. Ruth Kimutai scored three points after finishing sixth in the 3000-meter Steeplechase, topping her best with a time of 10:52.37 for a new PR.
Allison Wood adds to the list of Racers to set a new personal best, running a time of 11:18.06 in the 3000-meter Steeplechase.
