- 2024-25 is the 100th season of collegiate basketball at Murray State & third in The MVC.
- For the 45th time overall and the sixth time in MVC, MSU meets the Evansville Purple Aces.
- The Racers won first meeting this season in early December 63-61 in Murray.
- MSU is 13-9 at Evansville all-time.Â
- In the Ford Center MSU is 11-4 all-time, which includes several seasons as members of the Ohio Valley Conference, when they won three OVC tournament championships there in 2018, 2019 & 2022.
- Since joining the Missouri Valley Conference in the 2022-23, MSU has won both of their games in the Ford center against the Purple Aces.
- The Racers had a mixed bag of results last week with a road win in Carbondale 74-64 against Southern Illinois and a home defeat 95-77 to Belmont.
- JaCobi Wood became the 48th player to join Racers' 1000-point club in Belmont game and has 1,010 points in 85 career games with MSU.
- Alden Applewhite has 499 career points in 75 career games with Mississippi State, Portland and Murray State.
- The Racers No. 55 in the nation in defending the 3-point shot (.305), have not given 10 or more in 21 games this season.
- It's a double road trip week for the Racers as they travel to Springfield Saturday to take on the Missouri State Bears in their first and only meeting of the 2024-25 season.
