Bears Prove Too Much for Racers

Murray State women's basketball fell 85-78 to Missouri State on Saturday afternoon
Murray State women's basketball fell to Missouri State 85-78 on Saturday afternoon in Springfield, Missouri for the Racers first Missouri Valley Conference loss this season. Prior to the matchup with the Bears, the Racers had won three straight games, scoring 91 or more points in each.
Katelyn Young led Murray State with 23 points and five rebounds while seniors Ava Learn and Trinity White each scored nine points and grabbed eight and seven rebounds, respectively. Haven Ford put together 15 points in the contest while battling foul trouble throughout the contest. Freshman Braxcynn Baker had nine points on three made three point attempts as Briley Pena had seven points and five assists.
The Racers scored 40 points in the paint and picked up 12 steals as a team.
Murray State returns to the CFSB Center next weekend with a pair of games, hosting Valparaiso on Friday and UIC on Sunday.
