MVC Preseason Watch List Announced

The Racers’ have six players on the watch list as they head into their fourth season in the Missouri Valley Conference
The Missouri Valley Conference released its 2025-26 men's basketball watch list as announced from the league office in St. Louis.

Murray State seniors Fred King (Mangrove Cay, Bahamas), JJ Traynor (Bardstown, Ky.), and Mason Miller (Germantown, Tenn.) are on the list, along with junior Brayden Shorter (Springfield, Mo.) and a pair of sophomores, Layne Taylor (Farmington, Ark.) and KJ Tenner (Memphis, Tenn.).

King and Miller come to the Racers from Creighton, while Shorter played last season at Washburn, Taylor at Central Arkansas and Tenner at West Virginia.

The 2025-26 season gets going Saturday with an exhibition game in Cincinnati at Xavier at 1 p.m. Central Time and the Racers also have an exhibition game at home (Oct. 26) against Northern State that is part of Racer Mania presented by Murray Bank.
The regular season begins (Nov. 3) with the Racers in Sioux Falls, S.D. at the Field of 68 Opening Day Marathon, taking on Omaha.
