11/24/2025 8:20:00 PM | Men's Basketball
The Racers struggled making shots in the first half in their third loss of the season
The Murray State Racers fell 73-60 to McNeese Cowboys in their second game of the 2025 Cayman Islands Classic in George Town at Gray Gymnasium on Monday night.
The Racers (4-3) George Washington in Tuesday's final game at 6:30 p.m. Central Time.
Murray State was led in scoring by Mason Miller with 14 points, while Roman Domon matched it for his second-straight double-digit scoring game in the Caymans.
The Racers' first half performance caused some head scratching when they inexplicably hit only 4-of-23 shots from the field (.174), 3-of-15 from the 3-point line (.200) and 6-of-15 (.400) from the free throw line. This was an out-of-character output for a team that was leading The Valley with 94.3 points per game and put the Racers in a 40-17 hole at the halftime intermission.
In the second half, the Racers outscored the Cowboys 43-33, but could only get as close as 13 points with 1:10 left to play.
