Murray State Athletics Posts Department Wide GPA Above 3.0 for 43rd Consecutive Semester

Murray State Athletics continues to shine academically, posting a 3.17 department wide GPA for fall 2025
For the 43rd consecutive semester, the Murray State Athletics Department has achieved a department wide GPA above a 3.0 with a Fall 2025 department GPA of 3.17. The Fall 2025 GPA ranks in the top-10 of GPAs recorded during the historic stretch.
Eleven out of 14 teams exceeded their 43-semester average team GPA, while 13 out of 14 teams had a team GPA above 3.0.
"Academic success is at the forefront of everything that we do, so for the Department of Athletics to extend their 3.0 GPA streak to 43 consecutive semesters is a phenomenal achievement," Murray State University President Dr. Ron Patterson said. "I want to commend each of our student-athletes and staff members for their hard work in the classroom this Fall."
Women's golf led all teams with a 3.72 GPA, while baseball led all men's sports with a 3.46 GPA.
"We take a tremendous amount of pride in our academic profile and we are thrilled that we extended our departmental 3.0 GPA streak to 43-straight semesters," Director of Athletics Nico Yantko said. "We are so proud of all of our student-athletes for this amazing accomplishment and are grateful for the coaches and academic staff who helped us achieve this feat."
Men's basketball had the highest team GPA in the last 43 semesters with a 3.17.
Sixty-seven student-athletes made the President's List, which is a perfect 4.0 for the semester. Ninety-six student-athletes made the Dean's List, which requires a 3.5 or higher.
Overall, 228 student-athletes had a semester GPA of 3.0 or higher, which represents 67% of all student-athletes reaching this accomplishment.
