Racers Fall in High Scoring Affair at Belmont

Murray State dropped a 96-89 contest in Nashville on Saturday
Murray State women's basketball fell 96-89 to Belmont in a battle for the top spot in the Missouri Valley Conference at the Curb Event Center in Murray, Kentucky. Katelyn Young continued her dominant run of games with 39 points, seven rebounds, and four assists. The 39 point performance is the seventh highest scoring single-game performance in Murray State history and is the second highest scoring game in Young's illustrious career.Â
Four Racers reached double figures as Ava Learn had 17 points, Haven Ford had 13, and Halli Poock had 12. Ford led the Racers with nine rebounds as Learn picked up eight rebounds.
The Racers out rebounded and had more field goals than the Bruins. Belmont was able to have a hot night of shooting behind the three point arc, knocking down 16 three pointers in the contest.
Murray State moves to 14-5 overall and 8-2 in MVC play.
