The Murray State Baseball team opens their 86th season at Johnny Reagan Field against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers Monday.
Murray State returns to the diamond after a 2-0 start courtesy of an opening day sweep of the Western Illinois Leathernecks.Â
Will Vierling hit three home runs against the Leathernecks in the doubleheader and earned Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week honors.
Ethan Lyke threw four innings and earned the win while not allowing an earned run in the first game of the doubleheader.
MSU won the most recent meeting between the Racers and the Hilltoppers 15-2.
