Racers Take Battle of the Valley's Best

Murray State women's basketball defeated Missouri State 78-67 in a matchup of the MVC's top two teams
Murray State women's basketball picked up a 78-67 win over Missouri State on Thursday night at the CFSB Center in Murray, Kentucky. The win gives the Racers a win over every team in the Missouri Valley Conference this season and moved them to within one game of first place in the league.
Halli Poock and Katelyn Young combined for 53 points to lead the way for Murray State. Poock started the game strong, finishing the first half with 15 points while Young finished the game on fire, going on a run of 11 straight points for the Racers in the fourth quarter.Â
Haven Ford poured in 12 points and seven rebounds and Ava Learn neared a double-double with nine points and 12 rebounds.Â
As a team, the Racers went a perfect 23-23 at the free throw line, compared to Missouri State's seven makes at the line.
Murray State is now 13-4 in MVC play, just one game behind Missouri State entering the final three games of the regular season.
