Racers Ride Mistone’s Clutch Triple to Sunday Sweep

Murray State improves to 7-0 in 2025 with 9th inning rally.
The Murray State Baseball team, (7-0, 0-0 MVC), earned the series sweep Sunday with a 6-4-win in the series finale against Little Rock, (5-6, 0-0 OVC), Sunday.
The Racers were down to their final three outs Sunday, before Jonathan Hogart hit a leadoff solo home run to tie the game 4-4. The long ball was Hogart's second of the day after his earlier seventh inning solo shot made it 4-3. The two solo shots capped a five extra base hit weekend for the redshirt senior, who had a pair of doubles Friday and a third Saturday.
Luke Mistone, the first year Racer from Upland Calif., was the other ninth inning hero for Murray State. With two on and two out and the game tied 4-4 Mistone lined an 0-1 pitch down the right field line to give Murray State a 6-4 lead. Mistone went 4-5 for the afternoon, with a pair of doubles to accompany his triple. Mistone also scored a run on Dom Decker's sixth inning RBI double which made the game 4-3.
Dustin Mercer also notched two hits for MSU on the afternoon. The redshirt senior has hit safely in all seven games in 2025 and 15 of his last 16 games dating back to last season.
Dylan Zentko earned his first win of the season for the Racers. The junior from Indiana, pitched five innings in relief allowing only two runs and striking out seven.
Murray State remains unbeaten in 2025. The Racers will next travel to Oxford, Miss. for a Wednesday evening match up against Ole Miss.
Wednesday's game is scheduled for 4:30 PM and will be streamed live on SEC Network+ and live stats will be available on GoRacers.com.
