The Murray State Baseball team (13-4, 0-0 MVC) will open Missouri Valley Conference play against Evansville (5-15, 0-0 MVC) Friday afternoon at Johnny Reagan Field. Friday will be the 70th meeting between the Racers and Purple Aces and the third series since the Racers joined the MVC. Murray State swept the series from the Purple Aces in Evansville Ind. last season. Due to inclement weather, Sunday's game, scheduled for 1 p.m. will now be played Saturday as part of a doubleheader. Game one of the doubleheader will start at 12 p.m.

The Racers currently lead the MVC in team batting average, (.310), hits (194) and on base percentage, (.424).

This week, the league announced that Murray State catcher Will Vierling, first baseman Luke Mistone and pitcher Dylan Zentko were named to the MVC Preseason All-Conference team.

The Racers beat Kentucky Tuesday evening to improve their record this season to 13-4.

This weekend's games will stream live on ESPN+. Harold Huston will have the call for all three games.
