The Murray State Racers (9-18, 1-7 MVC) will host the UT Martin Skyhawks (11-16, 3-6 OVC) for a midweek game on Wednesday, March 26 at 3 p.m. CT at Racer Field in Murray, Ky.
The Racers are currently tenth in the Missouri Valley Conference, two games behind Illinois State. The Skyhawks are eighth in the Ohio Valley Conference, having lost two of three to Eastern Illinois last weekend.
As a team, Murray State is batting .242 through 27 games this season. They are in the top five in the MVC in several categories including RBI (101) and slugging percentage (.367). The Racer pitching staff has a combined ERA of 4.27 and has allowed 136 earned runs on the year.
The Racers are coming off of a road MVC series at Indiana State where they lost all three games. Katy Huels, Kenley Minor, and Erin Lackey led the team with three hits each, and Huels led the way with three RBI. Karlye Graber led the team with eight and one-third innings pitched. She recorded a team-high 11 strikeouts including eight in one outing. Â
The Skyhawks defeated Eastern Illinois in game one 6-3 before dropping the final two games. Alli Robinson leads the team with a .342 batting average, 25 hits, and 21 RBI. Robinson is tied with Avary Makarewicz to lead the team with four home runs each.
Following the game against UT Martin, Murray State will host Missouri State for a series at Racer Field. Game one is scheduled for Thursday, March 27 at 5 p.m. CT with a doubleheader the following day at 3:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. CT.   Â
