The Racers have won 12 of their last 13 games
Murray State Baseball takes on the North Alabama Lions Tuesday in a 3 p.m. first pitch at Mike Lane Field in Florence, Ala.
In their first meeting in Murray (April 1), the Racers slipped past the Lions 5-3 on a four-RBI day from Jonathan Hogart and some solid pitching from Jacob Hustedde, Jackson Ugo, Graham Kelham and Derek Lebron.
The Racers have steadily built momentum since the UNA win by sweeping a pair of Missouri Valley Conference series from Bradley and Valparaiso. At 27-9, the Racers have a share of second place in The Valley at 10-5. With three more wins, the Racers will become the first team in the 86 seasons of the program to have five-straight 30-win seasons. The teams from 1973-76 had four 30-win seasons in a row under Hall of Fame Coach Johnny Reagan.
MSU is in the middle of an eight-game road swing at UNA with a series this weekend lined up in Terre Haute vs Indiana State. After a game at SEMO (April 29), The Racers return home to Johnny Reagan Field (May 2-4) to host Southern Illinois on MSU Baseball Alumni Weekend. Festivities include honoring new MSU Hall of Famer, Daniel Calhoun, the 1975 NCAA Team and Johnny Reagan Day.
