The Racers have won their last six games and 13-of-14

Murray State Baseball pushed their win streak to six with a 10-3 victory Tuesday over the North Alabama Lions at Mike Lane Field in Florence, Ala.

The Racers (28-9) used seven pitchers to limited the Lions to only six hits and saw the top of the lineup, Jonathan Hogart, Dustin Mercer and Carson Garner combine for six hits to drive in six of the Racers' 10 runs. Freshman Connor Cunningham and senior Mercer each had three hits and Garner cracked his 12 home run of the season to tie Hogart for the team lead.

MSU gets back to Missouri Valley Conference play this weekend in Terre Haute against the Indiana State Sycamores.

Game Notes

The Racers scored six runs combined in the 5^th and 6^th innings.
The Racers lead the all-time series with UNA 15-6 and are 8-4 in Florence.
MSU has won the last seven games with the Lions since 2022.
Cunningham has hit batting average up to .269 after a 3-of-4 day at UNA.
In his last four games, Cunningham is 7-of-15 with a pair of doubles and home runs.
Carson Garner now has 44 walks in 37 games and leads the MVC.
Garner is taking aim at the MSU single season walks record that was set in 1973 by Jack Perconte at 58.
Garner could become the fifth Racer to get to 50 walks in a season and be the first since Grant Wood who had 50 in 2018.
With 12 home runs each, Garner and Hogart have combined this season for a batting average of .304, with 24 home runs and 77 RBIs.
With their 28th win in the books, the Racers are closing on the program's fifth-straight 30-win season, which will be a first in 86 seasons of MSU Baseball.
The Racers can best the teams from 1973-76 that had four-straight 30-win seasons with two more wins.
MSU Baseball Alumni Weekend is coming soon when the Racers return home to Johnny Reagan Field (May 2-4) to host Southern Illinois.
Festivities include honoring new MSU Hall of Famer, Daniel Calhoun, the 1975 NCAA Team and Johnny Reagan Day.
