Racers to Face Bradley in Cape Girardeau

Murray State will play three games against the Braves on Sunday and Monday

The Murray State Baseball team, (16-8, 2-4 MVC), will begin their third Missouri Valley Conference series of the season against the Bradley Braves, (3-21, 0-6 MVC), in Cape Girardeau Mo. Sunday. The series was moved to Capaha Field in Cape Girardeau as a result of heavy rain in Murray Ky. this week. The teams will play a doubleheader Sunday, with game one beginning at 12 p.m. The series will conclude Monday with first pitch also at 12 p.m.
The Racers enter Sunday after winning their midweek contest against North Alabama, 5-3, Tuesday. Jonathan Hogart helped lift the Racers past North Alabama with a grand slam in the bottom of the fifth inning.
MSU currently leads the MVC in team batting average at .309 and on base percentage at .430.
Luke Mistone leads Murray State in average, batting .388. Dustin Mercer follows behind him with a .385 average.
Hogart's grand slam tied him with Will Vierling for the team lead in home runs at seven.
Murray State is 16-21 all-time against the Braves. The Racers took all three games against Bradley in Peoria, Ill. last season.
