Racers to Host a Pair of In-State Foes Midweek

Murray State will host two midweek games against fellow Kentucky schools

The Murray State Baseball team, (19-8, 5-4 MVC), will play two midweek games at Johnny Reagan Field in Murray, Ky. against in state opponents this week. The Racers will host Bellarmine, (8-23, 4-8 ASUN), Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m. MSU will welcome the Kentucky State Thoroughbreds, (3-28, 1-21 SIAC), Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. as well.
The Racers return home following a series sweep over Bradley that was relocated to Capaha Park in Cape Girardeau, Missouri following last week's heavy rain. Dustin Mercer is leading the Racers in batting with a .405 batting average. Mercer batted .625 with 10 hits and four RBIs in last week's contests.
Jonathan Hogart leads Murray State in home runs with nine. Hogart hit three home runs in three consecutive games last week. MSU as a team is leading the Missouri Valley Conference in batting with a .306 team average. Murray State also leads in team on base percentage with a .431 clip.
The Racers own a 4-0 record against Bellarmine all-time. Murray State won last year's contest against Bellarmine 12-9 at Johnny Reagan Field.
MSU is meeting Kentucky State for the first time since 2019. Murray State is also 4-0 all-time against Kentucky State.
