Murray State women's basketball travels to Southern Illinois for a Thursday matchup
The Murray State women's basketball team looks to extend its 12-game winning streak Thursday night at 6 p.m. CT when it visits Southern Illinois at the Banterra Center.
The Racers (14-2, 5-0 Missouri Valley Conference) enter the contest as one of two undefeated teams in league play. Murray State is coming off a 95-67 victory over Drake on Sunday, a win that marked the 150th career victory for head coach Rechelle Turner. The Racers currently boast the MVC's most potent offense, averaging nearly 85 points per game.
Southern Illinois (4-11, 1-5) returns home following a 97-59 win over Valparaiso that snapped a four-game losing skid. The Salukis are led by graduate guard Jeniah Thompson, who recorded 25 points in her last outing.
The Racers have dominated recent history with five consecutive wins over SIU. Thursday's matchup marks only the second conference road game of the season for Murray State.
The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
