Racers, Bulldogs Set for MVC Rematch in Des Moines
DES MOINES, Iowa — Murray State looks to regain its momentum Sunday as the Racers travel to the Knapp Center for a Missouri Valley Conference showdown against Drake.
Murray State (16-2, 7-1 MVC) saw its program-record 13-game winning streak snapped Friday in an 89-74 loss to Northern Iowa. Despite the setback, the Racers remain near the top of the conference standings behind a high-powered offense averaging over 83 points per game. Junior forward Sharnecce Currie-Jelks (19.3 ppg, 12.4 rpg) continues to be a force inside, leading the nation in double-doubles.
Drake enters following a recent stretch of improved play in the Valley. The Bulldogs rely heavily on senior guard Abbie Aalsma, who averages 15.4 points per game.
The Racers won the first meeting of the season on Jan. 11, securing a 95-67 victory in Murray. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. CST.
