Racers Perform Well at SIU DeNoon Classic

The Racers competed in the SIU event shortened prior to winter storm Fern
The Murray State women's track & field team competed at the SIU Don DeNoon Invite in Carbondale, Illinois.

Getting at least a day of competition in before winter storm Fern came in from the west, the Racers posted several notable performances and first place showings.
Â
Brooke Probst cleared 1.73M (5ft-8in) for a personal best to win the High Jump with the best leap this indoor season in the Missouri Valley Conference and the seventh-best effort in MSU program history.
The Racers saw Reagan Gibson win the Pole Vault with an effort of 3.73M that is tied for third all-time at MSU. MSU secured the top-4Â spots. Katie Schneider cleared 3.52M, while Jaiden Knoop and Morgan Noyes made the 3.43M bar.
Alyssa Williams won the Triple Jump at 11.75M, while Libel, Skyler Libel placed fourth at 10.60M.

Aryn Lanier-Collier won the 60M Hurdles with a time of 8.73.

It was a 1-2-3 finish in the 60M Dash for the Racers as Serena Blackwood posted a 7.69, with Chanel Honeywell made a time of 7.55 and Simone Joseph a 7.62.

MSU's Ainsley Smith took the 800M title at 2:20.5 with Joseph taking fifth at 2:24.9.
In the Pentathlon, Segovia, Andrea won the title with 3,428 points, while MSU's Lindley Johnston (3,284) and Emily Wright (3,188) placed third and fourth.

MSU's Brianna Ritchie placed third in the Long Jump with an effort of 5.11M and Karrington Edwards placed fourth in the 400M Run at 1:02.8.

In the 4X400M Relay, the Racers had two teams in the field and placed second and third with times of 3:55.6 and 4:04.3.

The Racers are back in action (Feb. 5) at the Missouri Invitational in Columbia.
