Soccer Hosts Austin Peay in Final Nonconference Home Match

MURRAY, Ky. - Murray State women's soccer returns home Sunday afternoon to host former Ohio Valley Conference rival Austin Peay. The Racers and Governors will kick off at 1 p.m. at Cutchin Field with streaming available on ESPN+.
Murray State has controlled the series since the programs first met in 2002, holding a 17-4-3 all-time edge and an 11-2-1 mark at Cutchin Field. The Racers have gone unbeaten in the last 12 meetings, a 10-0-2 run stretching back to their most recent loss to the Governors on Oct. 2, 2011. The teams played to a scoreless draw in Clarksville last Sept. 7.
The Racers arrive off the best defensive performance of their season, blanking Marshall 0-0 on Thursday for their first shutout of 2026. Griselda Revolorio held a Marshall side averaging two goals per match off the scoreboard, and Murray State limited the Herd to two shots on goal, the fewest any opponent has managed against the Racers this year.
- Revolorio, a senior from Washington, Ind., needs three saves to pass Jenna Villacres for fourth place on Murray State's career saves list. She sits at 217.
- Thursday's clean sheet was the 16th of Revolorio's career, third in program history behind Alex Steigerwald (27) and Tara Isbell (25). She has 26 saves this season and has played all 540 minutes in goal.
- Junior forward Breece Bass, of Indianapolis, has recorded at least one shot in all six matches, the only Racer to do so, and leads Murray State with 10 shots and six on goal. She sits two goals shy of 10 for her career.
- All three of Murray State's goals this season have come at Cutchin Field.
- Sunday closes out a stretch of five nonconference matches for the Racers, who open MVC play Sept. 20Â vs. Illinois State
Scouting the Govs
- Austin Peay enters at 0-5-1 in its first season as a full member of the United Athletic Conference.
- The Governors have scored two goals in six matches, an average of 0.33 per game, and have been held off the scoreboard four times. Kayla Barr and Anna Drexel account for the goals.
- Austin Peay's lone point came in a 1-1 draw with Indiana State on Aug. 30. The Sycamores are 3-1-2 and among the stronger sides in the MVC.
- Goalkeeper Megan Waskiewicz has started all six matches, logging 516 minutes with 29 saves and a 2.44 goals-against average.
- The Governors have been outshot 97-39 and out-cornered 42-17 this season, and come in off a 2-0 loss at Evansville on Wednesday.
