Hard-nosed fullback who has been a solid player in his first three seasons at MSU, used primarily as a blocking back in the Racer offense.
2004: Played in nine of the Racers 11 games...Caught four passes one of which went for a touchdown against TN Tech...Carried twice gaining six yards.
2003: Started three games at fullback, rushing twice for five yards...Caught five passes for 26 yards with a long of nine yards...Also saw extensive action on special teams.
2002: One of just a handful of freshmen to see action...Was counted on heavily in final eight games of the season after Jamie Alexander suffered a season-ending injury...Carried eight times for 28 yards on the season...Also caught two passes for 33 yards...As a member of the 'Breds baseball team, was the No. 2 catcher for the OVC tournament champions, starting seven games behind the plate.
HIGH SCHOOL: Finished with 300 yards rushing on 40 carries and 400 yards receiving on 25 catches while scoring five TDs as a senior at Tupelo HS. Earned all-region and second team all-state honors while serving as team captain. Scored 10 TDs and gained 600 yards on 70 carries as a junior for coach Phil Ferguson. Also lettered four years in baseball at Tupelo.
PERSONAL: Son of Jimmy and Becky Baxter...Born on March 16, 1984...Majoring in International Business.
