Expected to fill a larger role on the Racer defense this fall...Has added nearly 20 pounds to his frame since he arrived in the program...Has a great feel for the game and with added size could line up as a linebacker or strong safety this fall...In addition to seeing action on the Racer defense, will be a fixture on Racer special teams.
2003: Saw action in 9 games before an arm injury kept him out of action...Had three tackles on the season, primarily on special teams...Also credited with one fumble recovery.
2002: Saw action in the first six games before suffering a broken leg...Was coming on strong until the injury...Had 13 tackles on the season, including one tackle for loss.
2001: Redshirted first season at MSU to gain strength and experience...Was a valuable member of the defensive scout team.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played for coach Joe Stonecipher at Calloway. Was a three-time All-WKC and team MVP. Was an honorable mention all-state selection as a junior and senior. Helped Calloway to a 3A district title as a junior QB/safety. Led team to a three-year record of 19-13. In baseball, was MVP as a junior.
PERSONAL: Majoring in Business Administration ...Son of Mike and Lyn Ryan...Born on Aug. 6, 1982...Grandson of MSU Hall of Fame baseball coach Johnny Reagan, who played basketball and baseball at MSU before going on to coach the baseball team for 36 years...Brother Greg plays at Western Ky.
