BEFORE MSU: Two-year letterwinner for head coach Mike Policastro at Cleveland State Community College...went 8-4 with a 4.20 ERA for the Cougars as a sophomore...posted a 5-0 record with a 3.40 ERA as a freshman.
HIGH SCHOOL: Two-year letterwinner for head coach Phil Grundy at Somerset High School...earned all-county and all-district honors after helping the Briar Jumpers to the region championship as a senior...went 9-4 on the mound, while hitting .384...went 10-1 as a freshman in helping team capture district and region championships...also a two-time all-county selection in football...threw for over 2,000 yards and 26 touchdowns as a senior.
