Jones produced one NJCAA All-American, three All-Region selections, eight OCCAC All-Conference selections, and two OCCAC Players of the Year in two seasons at Cincinnati State.
Prior to working with the Lady Surge, Jones was the head coach at Harmony Community School in Cincinnati, Ohio for one season. Harmony set school records for the best record (10-7), most wins in a season, most points per game (50), and highest points scored in a game (64) under her tutelage.
Jones started her coaching career at Belmont High School in Dayton, Ohio as the head girls freshman coach and assistant varsity coach from 2001 to 2004. Her freshman team won the 2005 SWOPL Freshmen Championship and had a 46-16 record in her four seasons as head coach.
She played for St. Catharine Community College, located in central Kentucky, for two years before transferring to Dayton.
While at St. Catharine’s, Jones was named a JUCO All-American honorable mention (1998-99), while being ranked No. 2 in the JUCO standings for field-goal percentage (.659), fourth in three-point field-goal percentage (.437), and eighth in assists (6.6 per game.)
Jones left Dayton with the record for the best three-point percentage in a game (1.000/6-6) and with a .376 shooting percentage from beyond the arc.
She earned Atlantic 10 Basketball Commissioners Honor Roll awards both seasons with the Flyers.
After college Jones moved on to play for the Plano Lady Eagles in the WBCBL Semi-Pro League for one season (2005). The Lady Eagles advanced to the championship game and Jones earned a spot on the All-Star Team.
Jones played prep ball at Patterson High School, located in Dayton. She was a four-year letterwinner at Patterson and won two city championships while leading the team in steals and assists all four years.
“Victoria is someone I recruited when she was playing point guard at St. Catharine Community College and I gained a great deal of respect for her competitive nature during that time,” Cross said. “She has great energy and is a tireless worker. Her successful experience as a head coach and player at various levels is a great benefit to our program.”
