The Breds open the 2012 Ohio Valley Conference season as they welcome Morehead State to Reagan Field. The series is set to get underway at 2 p.m. Friday afternoon, and continue with a 2 p.m. first pitch on Saturday and a 1 p.m. matinee on Sunday.

Babin Works Way into Rotation
Left hander Bryan Babin has pitched his way into the weeend rotation. The senior is 2-1 with a 3.45 ERA in nine appearances, five starts. He has allowed two earned runs or less in each of his last four starts.
Isaak Goes Deep in Back-to-Back ABs
Travis Isaak hit his first home run of the season in his final at-bat against Mid-Continent. He came back the next day and hit a two-run home run in his first at-bat against Belmont.
Rhodes Hits Grand Slam
Catcher Jacob Rhodes broke out of a slump in a big way as he went 2-for-3 with a grand slam and a career-best six RBIs. The grand slam was Rhodes' first long ball of the season.
Cornett Fans 7
Freshman Kyle Cornett had a career day against Mid-Continent as he struck out a career-best seven over six shutout innings.
Shuemaker Among NCAA Leaders
Senior Luke Shuemaker ranks third nationall in ERA with a 0.66 ERA. Shuemaker has allowed just two earned runs in 27.1 innings. Wichita State's A.J. Ladwig leans the nation in ERA at 0.35. He is followed by Coastal Carolina's Aaron Burke at 0.39.
Rizheimer Earns Honor
After a big weekend at Southern Miss, Paul Ritzheimer was selected to the CollegeBaseball360.com Primetime Performers Weekly Honor Roll.
Big Innings Late
Murray Stat used a big inning to take the lead in each of the three games against Southern Miss. The Breds used a five-run fifth to gain the lead in the series opener, before putting the game away with three more runs in the ninth. MSU scored five runs in the eighth in the middle game, but were unable to hold on for the win. In the finale, MSU score four runs in the seventh to take the game and the series.
Ritzheimer's Big Weekend
Centerfielder Paul Ritzheimer had a big weekend as he went 7-for-12 (.583) with four doubles, four runs scored and five RBIs against Southern Miss. He began the weekend by going 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles, and end the weekend with a pair of doubles and two RBIs.
Handlin Strong in Relief
Will Handlin kept the Breds in the game on Sunday as he allowed just one run over 5.1 innings. The outing allowed MSU to score four runs in the seventh for the victory. The outing was the second longest of his career, with the longest being six shutout innings in the 17-inning victory against Central Arkansas.

The Breds hit the road for a non-conference contest as they travel to face Southern Illinois on March 28. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
