Racers Fall 5-2 in Men's Tennis

The Murray State men's tennis squad dropped a non-conference match Tuesday afternoon at Bennie Purcell Courts in Murray. The Racers fell to Bethel (Tenn.) University 5-2.

After getting swept in the three doubles matches, MSU (0-9) rebounded to win two singles matches on the day. Adam Taylor picked up his second dual match victory of the season at number two singles, winning 6-2, 6-3. At number three, Tyler Jeffers won a three-set thriller 3-6, 7-6 and 10-7.

Joao Camara fell at number one singles to Bethel's Peter Baca 6-3 and 6-2. Ryan Kennedy dropped a three-set heartbreaker at number four, 7-5, 1-6 and 6-2. Nicholas and Aleks Mitric lost at number five and six singles, respectively, dropping their matches 6-4, 6-2 and 6-1, 6-2.

The Racers will open OVC play this weekend as they will host a pair of matches. Morehead State will come to town on Saturday and Eastern Kentucky will be the opponent on Sunday.
