Racers Compete At ITA Regional In Nashville

The Murray State men's tennis team competed over the weekend at the USTA/ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships hosted by Vanderbilt at the Currey Tennis Center in Nashville, Tenn.

Davis Hess fell to Jody Maginley of Northern Kentucky 6-1, 6-1. Hess withdrew from his match with Lago Seffrin of Austin Peay.

Max Mclean was defeated by Luke Saunders of Chattanooga and also lost to Pat Elliot of Ball State 6-2, 6-2.

MSU's Will True was defeated by Jeremy Schneider of Xavier 7-5, 7-6 in a hard-fought match. True lost 6-7(5), 6-3, 6-2 to Alvaro Cintas of Tennessee Tech.

Srjdan Trosic of the Racers dropped his match 7-6(2), 3-6, 1-0(11) to John Tougher of Lipscomb. Trosic also lost 6-1, 6-0 to Connor Huertas of East Tennessee.

MSU Head Coach Mel Purcell had two tandems in the draw for double competition. Both dropped their matches as Max McLean and David Hess of MSU were defeated by Jess Jones and Luis Valero of Tennessee 8-2. Will True and Srjdan Troscic feel to Vanderbilt's Jeffery Offerdahl and Kris Yee 8-4.

The Racers' next challenge will be the Louisville Invitational (Oct. 24-26).
