Racers Strong at Vanderbilt Invitational

Murray State's Track & Field Team competed at the Vanderbilt Music City Invitational in Vanderbilt, Tennessee. MSU was a part of 12 events, where they yielded three first place finishes, 10 top five awards, and 25 top 10 finishers. Many Racers saw their name in the All-Time Best for Murray State or had a personal best outing.
60m
Eight Racers competed in the 60m race that was compiled of 19 student-athletes. Deja Rodgers finished in 3rd in 7.69. LeShea Shaw and Hannah McAllister finished in 7.88 and 7.89, respectively. Freshman Anna Curlin and Taylor McCammon both finished at the 7.90 mark, with Victoria Yocum following at the 7.91 mark. Taylor Adcock and Morgan McNeely finished with personal bests in the 60m posting times of 8.11 and 8.13, respectively.
200m
Rodgers came in first with a time of 25.36, which is good for a Murray State All-Time seventh best time in the 200m indoor. McNeely posted another personal best when she finished in 26.52. McAllister and Kristen Higgins rounded out the 200m for the Racers after posting times of 26:55 and 27:00.
400m
Adcock finished with a personal best score of 58.93 to be the eighth racer to cross the finish line. Curlin also finished under a minute with a time of 59.42. Yocum and Summer Wheeler ended up close to each other at the finish posting 1:01.42 and 1:01.74, respectively. Sarah Bindel posted 1:05.11 while Olivia Brice posted a 1:09.64 mark.
600m
Natalie Pattin became the 10th best all-time for Murray State with a time of 1:37.72. Kimmy Siebert had a personal record when she posted a score of 1:46.29.
1000m
All four Racers got themselves onto the All-Time Murray State Indoor Best in the 100m. Brittany Bohn finished in first and lands in first on the all-time best list with a 2:56.90 mark. Tia Weston got herself third on the all-time list with a 3:04.26 mark. Emani Griffin and Jacquelyn Thate earned their way into fourth and fifth on the all-time list with a time of 3:12.17 and 3:13.19, respectively.
1 mile
Caroline Grogan finished third with a time of 5:22.53. Rebekah Priddy, Emily Flaherty, and Griffin finished within a minute of each other with respective times at 5:36.98, 5:37.00, and 5:38.08. Heatherly Paschall recorded a personal record when she finished the mile in 5:50.49.
60m Hurdles
Three Racers made their way onto the All-Time best list, starting with Shaw who posted 8.74 and ranks third on the all-time list. McCammon recorded a time of 8.94 and sits in fifth on the all-time list, while Kristen Higgins rests in ninth on the all-time list after posting a time of 9.30. Sydney Potts set a personal record with a 9.75 mark. Bindel finished in 9.87, along with Kennedy Berkley finishing in 9.96.
4x400m Relay
Murray State had four teams compete in the 4x400m relay. The teams finished with times of 3:55.64 (5th), 4:05.34 (8th), 4:15.08 (11th), and 4:17.36 (12th).
Long Jump
McCammon jumped 16"6.50' in her first long jump competition. Kiara Austin finished the long jump with a distance of 16"2.50'.
Triple Jump
While, this did not break her own personal record, Austin will again see her name on the All-Time list for Murray State when she went a distance of 37"10'. This will place her in seventh on the All-Time list.
Shot Put
Tonia Pratt will also see her name again on the All-Time list with her distance of 13.16m. Abbie Lukens recorded a distance of 12.5m, while Darcy Sullivan threw for 8.89m.
Weight Throw
Pratt got first and is back on the All-Time list in third with her distance of 18.63m.
Murray State Track & Field will not compete again until January 16 at Kentucky.Â
