Women’s Track and Field at Grand Valley Big Meet

Murray State's women's track and field meet will get their final tune-up before the indoor OVC Championships at the Grand Valley State Big Meet in Allendale, Mich., Feb. 14-15. The meet will start at 10 a.m. on both Friday and Saturday.
One of the larger collegiate meets of the indoor season, the GVS Big Meet will host 67 teams and roughly 2,400 entries for the two day meet. It has also been tabbed the USTFCCCA "National Division II Meet of the Week," but will be hosting a number of Division I schools, including OVC rivals Eastern Illinois and Southeast Missouri.
The meet will take place over two days with Friday being the invitational and Saturday the open entries will compete.
The Racers are coming off of a strong performance at the SIU Invitational and are positioning themselves near the top of the league heading into the conference championships, Feb. 27-28.
Reigning OVC Track Athlete of the Week, LaShea Shaw, will be in competition both days, including the 60m dash and 60m hurdles, where she is currently ranked fourth and third in the OVC respectively.
