Murray State's men's tennis team returned to the court for a midweek matinee at Chattanooga. Unfortunately, the Racers were unable to pick up any set wins in their 6-0 loss, dropping them to 1-5 on the season.
The afternoon opened with the singles portion with Adam Taylor and Anjan Kashyab taking first set wins. Both needed to go to a tiebreaker before winning the set 7-6. Taylor, playing at the No. 1 spot, then lost a tight second-set battle 6-4 and couldn't regroup, dropping the third set and the match, 6-2.
Kashyab suffered a similar fate with a pair of 6-3 losses in sets two and three at the No. 6 draw.
Playing at the No. 3 position, Nicholas Mitric lost a tough first set, 7-5, and fell in the second, 6-3.
With the match in hand for the Mocs, the two teams did not play out the doubles competition.
The Racers will start their OVC schedule Saturday, March 15 against Tennessee Tech. First serve is slated for 11 a.m.Â
