Adam Taylor was Murray State's lone victor Sunday against Eastern Illinois. Taylor was a winner on both first court doubles (8-4) and first court singles (6-3, 4-6, 6-3). Unfortunately, those were the only wins for the Racers against the Panthers, as they fell 6-1.
Taylor's wins were both hard fought. He and partner Max McLean were able to jump out early and ride their momentum to an 8-4 doubles win. In singles, after securing the first set 6-3, Taylor dropped the second 6-4. He then fell behind 3-0 in the decisive third set, before coming back to win the next six games and take the set 6-3.
Although the Racer's didn't earn another point they were competitive at most draws. On court three, Nicholas Mitric fell 6-4, 6-4 and in the sixth position, Anjan Kashyab fell 7-6 (7-1), 7-5. Aleks Mitric nearly forced a third set at the fourth draw, but was just edged out 6-2, 7-5.
The Racers will have a quick turnaround as they will welcome Western Kentucky on Tuesday, April 1 to the Purcell Tennis Courts. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m.
