Racers Finish OVC with Loss at Austin Peay

Murray State's men's tennis team's OVC schedule came to a close Thursday afternoon in Clarksville, Tenn. Austin Peay shutout the Racers 7-0, as MSU finishes the season just 1-7 in conference play.

MSU lost the doubles point to open the match with losses on courts one and three. Nicholas Mitric and David Hess's match went unfinished on court two with the point having been won by Austin Peay.

In singles competition, Adam Taylor played a tight match at the top draw. The senior lost in straight sets 6-4, 6-3 in the final OVC match of his career.

Freshmen Hess and Anjan Kashyab also won a few sets as their freshman campaigns came to a close. Hess lost 6-4, 6-2, while Kashyab was defeated 6-3, 6-1 on courts four and five.

The Racers have two matches left against SEC opponents. They'll take on #35 South Carolina tomorrow, April 11 in Lexington. Ky. First serve is slated for 10 a.m. The Racers will head back to Lexington on Sunday, April 13 for their final match of the 2013-14 season. They'll play vistor at #14 Kentucky.
