Racers Get Final Tune-Up Before OVC at Arkansas State

In their final meet before the OVC Championships next weekend, Murray State's track team took a few athletes to Arkansas State as one last tune up.
Standing out for the Racers were Sydney Potts, Kennedy Berkley and Ashley Conway in the javelin. Potts finished in third place with a throw of 39.35m. Berkley and Conway set personal bests with throws of 34.74m and 32.22m, respectively to finish in eighth and ninth places.
In the distance events, Alicyn Hester also set a new personal-best in the 1500m run. Hester was in the invite section of the meet for the event and crossed the line in 4:43.32 in eighth place.
Brittany Bohn and Emma Gilmore both competed in the 800m run. The two ran nearly identical times, despite being in different heats. Gilmore was a shade faster, running in 2:15.12, while Bohn finished in 2:15.15. Raeven Wilson also ran in the event, just missing out on a new personal-best. She finished in 2:20.69.
The next time the Racers will be on the track will be at the Ohio Valley Conference Championships in Edwardsville, Ill., hosted by SIUE. The two-day events will take place Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3.
