A handful of members of the Murray State women's track team competed at the Eastern Illinois Last Chance Twilight. Two Racers set PRs and two others walked away with event victories.
On the track, Brittany Bohn and Taylor Adcock bettered their times in the 800m run and 400m hurdles, respectively. Bohn's time of 2:13.91 was good for third place and improves upon her own eighth-best mark all-time. Adcock ran her best time of the season in the 400 hurdles, finishing in fifth place in 1:03.03. That time puts her at No. 10 all-time at MSU.
In the field events, Tonia Pratt and Sydney Potts earned victories in the hammer throw and javelin, respectively. Pratt won with a toss of 53.75m (176' 4"). She also came in third in the shot put, throwing 14.99m (42' 2.25"), just two-one-hundredths of a meter off of her PR. Potts picked up the win in the javelin with a throw of 40.50m (132' 10"). She too competed in another event, the 100m hurdles, setting a season-best in 15.82 to finish fifth.
Also competing was Kiara Austin. She too finished just shy of her PR in the triple jump. Austin came in third with a jump of 12.06m (39' 7").
The Racers do not have any other meets lined up for the remainder of the season. They will wait to see who will qualify for the first rounds of the NCAA Championships, May 28-31 in Jacksonville, Florida. Currently in the top-100 in the NCAA-East are Pratt in hammer throw (28th) and shot put (39th), Ashley Conway in the Heptathlon (71st), Potts in the javelin (93rd) and Austin in the triple jump (95th).
