Racers PR in Arkansas State Invitational

Personal records were the words of the meet at the Scarlet and Black Invitational at Arkansas State. The Murray State Track & Field team had at least two student-athletes PR in every event along with 30 total PRs. There were six student-athletes in the top three, 11 in the top five, and 20 in the top 10.

LaShea Shaw led the way and qualified as one of the top eight runners in the first heat. She finished in fourth in 7.36, and then in the finals finished fifth in 7.33. The following three runners set personal records with their final times. Taylor Adcock finished in 7.67, while Morgan McNeely and Kristen Higgins finished in 7.75 and 7.79, respectively.
200m
For all three Racers, this was their first time doing the 200m. Summer Wheeler finished in 27.16. Taylor Adcock and Oliva Brice finished in respective times of 27.30 and 30.02.

The Racers were led by Summer Wheeler who finished in 1:02.57. Emma Gilmore and Emani Griffin set personal records when they finished in 1:02.57 and 1:03.72, respectively. Victoria Yocum finished in 1:04.02, while Morgan McNeely followed shortly behind in 1:05.05. Sarah Bindel crossed the finish line in 1:06.54, along with Olivia Brice in 1:11.14.

Natalie Pattin came in third when she finished in 2:21.44. Raeven Wilson and Jacquelyn Thate and finished close to each other when they crossed the finish line at respective times of 2:27.95 and 2:29.43. Three Racers set personal records starting with Vallery Korir with a 2:33.62 times, followed by Heatherly Paschall with 2:35.52, and finally Elizabeth Lay who finished in 2:42.82. Emily Evans finished in 2:46.38, while Rebecca Morris finished in 3:03.56.

Against 23 runners, two Racers were able to notch personal records. Tia Weston finished in 5:37.88, while Heatherly Paschall crossed at 5:40.78 to PR. Emily Evans was able to finish in 6:06.95, along with Rebecca Morris following at 6:27.55.

3000m
When Brittany Bohn finished in 10:14.00, she set a personal record, finished second, and finds herself on the MSU All-Time Bests List. Vallery Korir and Caroline Grogan had personal records of their own when they finished in 10:34.62 and 10:39.18, respectively. Two more Racers found personal records when running the 3000m; Meagan Smith when she finished in 10:51.75 and Emily Flaherty 11:06.29. Leah Krause finished in 10:59.77. Abbie Oliver finished in 11:02.46 followed shortly by Rebekah Priddy who finished in 11:05.67.

55m Hurdles
Shaw finished fifth out of 22 student-athletes in 8.52. She also went into the finals and finished sixth with a time of 8.56. The remaining Racers set personal records for the 55m hurdles. Higgins finished in 9.15, with Kennedy Berkely following closely behind at 9.24. Adcock made her way over the hurdles at 9.28, while Sarah Bindel and Sydney Potts finished in 9.45 and 9.65, respectively.

Both teams are now ranked second and third on the All-Time Bests list when the first team finished in 4:07.63 and then 4:22.82.

Distance Medley Relay
Leah Krause, Emma Gilmore, Brittany Bohn, and Caroline Grogan finished the DMR in second when they finished in 12:57.64. Abbie Oliver, Raeven Wilson, Emani Griffin, and Meagan Smith finished in third with a time of 13:06.84. All Distance Medley Relay's are school records.Â

Ashley Conway jumped 1.55m (5'1.00"), while Taylor Horton set a personal record when she jumped 1.45m (4'9.00").

Conway finished in first, set a personal record, and now ranks 8th on the MSU All-Time Bests List when she jumped 5.71m (18'9.00"). Jill Jachino set a personal record of her own after jumping 5.12m (16'9.75").

Jachino set another personal record, and ranks 7th on the MSU All-Time Bests list after going a distance of 11.25m (36'11.00").

Tonia Pratt finished in second of the group when she threw 13.92m (45'8.00"). Abbie Lukens threw 12.47m (40'11.00"), while Ashley Conway threw 11.72m (38'5.50"). Jolyta Henderson had a personal record when she threw 8.50m (27'10.75").

Tonia Pratt came in first out of 11 throwers with a distance of 18.87m (61'11.00"). Brianna McCarthy threw a distance of 13.22m (43'4.50"). Abbie Lukens and Mariana Keller both set personal records with respective distances of 11.84 (38'10.25") and 9.99m (32'9.50").
