Men's Tennis Shows Promise at Louisville

The men's tennis team competed at the Louisville Invitational Oct. 30-Nov. 1 in Louisville, Ky.
Will True had a good outing for the Racers. Despite losing his first match 1-6, 6-7 (1), he was able to go far on the consolation side of the bracket. True won his next two matches 6-3, 2-6, 10-4 and 6-3, 7-5. He was defeated in the semifinals 2-6, 1-6.
Srdjan Trosic also competed for the Racers and lost both matches 6-3, 2-6, 0-6 and 2-6, 2-6.
David Hess had two matches in the tournament. He lost the first 3-6, 2-6. He was defeated in his second match 6-2, 4-6, 2-
Marcel Ueltzhoeffer won his first match 6-4, 6-7(6), 6-3. He lost his second match 1-6, 7-6(5).
Anjan Kashyab lost both his matches by final scores of 1-6, 7-5, 1-6 and 2-6, 1-6.
Javier Villar had just one match in the singles draw. Though it was close, he was defeated 6-2, 6-7 (4), 3-6.
Villar and Trosic were paired for the doubles matches. They lost their first match 6-8. However, the duo was able to rally for their next match as they defeated their opponent 8-6. The pair would finish runners up in the Flight B Doubles Consolation bracket as they were defeated by Morehead State 4-8.
True and Hess would be paired for the doubles. They would be defeated in both matches 2-8 and 4-8.
The Racers are off from competition now until January 22 when they take on Lipscomb in Nashville, Tenn.
