Racers Fall to No. 40 Memphis

The Murray State men's tennis team fell to No. 40 ranked Memphis on Friday.
The Tigers jumped out to a quick start against the Racers as MSU lost the doubles point.
In the singles matches, Memphis proved to be too much for the team as they swept the Racers with the 7-0 defeat. Marcel Ueltzhoeffer faced the No. 87 player in the nation Andrew Watson. He was ultimately defeated by Watson 6-3, 6-1. Freshman David Schrott put up a good fight against Shakeel Menji, but ultimately lost 7-5, 6-1.
The Racers look to bounce back as they host their home opener on Saturday at Kenlake State Park as they take on Olivet Nazarene. Match time is set for 4 p.m. and will begin at the conclusion of the women's matches.
