Racers Finish OVC Championship With Records

While the Murray State track and field team did not bring a championship home to Murray, Kentucky, they finished with 10 top five finishers and 19 top 10 finishes. School and personal records were set in Charleston, Illinois as Eastern Illinois took the women's track and field indoor championship trophy.

Day Two
Vallery Korir set a personal record and is now has the third best 3000m time at Murray State with a time of 10:05.84. Alicyn Hester finished seventh and now has the fifth best time at Murray State when she finished in 10:08.12.

The 4x400m relay team comprised of Taylor Adcock, Tia Weston, Brittany Bohn, and Emma Gilmore finished under four minutes for only the second time in MSU history. They finished in 3:57.59.

Tonia Pratt finished fourth in the shot put with a distance of 13.69m, while Abbie Lukens threw 12.19m.

Hester set another personal record in the mile when she finished in 5:03.47. Bohn finished fourth with a time of 5:02.81, while Emma Gilmore was the eighth athlete to cross the finish line at the 5:03.66 mark.

In the 60m hurdles finals, LaShea Shaw finished in fourth with a time of 8.56.

Chleo LeGrand and Jill Jachino finished the pole vault tied by clearing 9'0.50" (2.76m).

Tonia Pratt claimed second place in the weight throw with a distance of 62'8.75", while Brianna McCarthy tied her personal record with a distance of 46'6.75".

Ashley Conway finished in third with a personal record 3,624 in the pentathlon. Taylor McCammon also competed in the pentathlon and finished with a score of 2,802.

Ashley Conway had a season best 5'4.25" in the high jump, while Taylor Horton set a personal record of 5'.25". Conway also competed in the long jump with a distance of 17'8.75".

Gilmore finished the 800m in 10th with a time of 2:18.24. Tia Weston finished in 2:22.58 while Raeven Wilson had a season-best time of 2:23.79.

Deja Rodgers competed in the 60m and 200m and finished in respective times of 7.78 and 26.12. Shaw also competed in the 60m and finished in 7.81.
