12/22/2016 10:33:00 PM | Men's Basketball
The Murray State Racers saw a six-point halftime lead get away in the early second half in a 77-62 loss to the Wright State Raiders Thursday at the CFSB Center in Murray, Ky.
The Racers lost for the first time at home in five games and fell to 5-8 as the team heads into the Christmas break.
MSU's 36-30 lead at the intermission looked to be larger until WSU's Mark Alstork hit a buzzer three. The Raiders opened the second half on a 13-1 run to put the Racers behind 43-37 with 15:00 left.
The Racers came back to make a game of it when they hit back-to-back threes from Jonathan Stark and Terrell Miller to make it a one-point game 59-58 in favor of Wright State. A 12-2 Raiders run put the game away with 2:41 remaining and a 71-60 lead.
Terrell Miller and Jonathan Stark each posted 21 points for the Racers. Miller had his second double-double in three games when he grabbed 11 rebounds.
The Racers had a hard time getting the ball through the hoop in the second half. They shot 29 percent on 8-of-28 from the field and hit 3-of-14 from the 3-point line for 21 percent. It added up to Wright State winning the second half by a 47-26 score after MSU won the first half 36-30.
