MSU Finishes Fourth at the OVC Indoor Championship

The Murray State track and field team compete in the last day of the 2016 OVC Indoor Track and Field Championship. Coming into the day, the Racers were in fourth place as a team.
In the 5000 meters, Vallery Korir took third. Caroline Grogan came in ninth. Meagan Smith and Leah Krause rounded out the Racers in the event..
In the mile, Brittany Bohn set a new school record as she finished third with a time of 4:56. Ali Hester set a new personal record as she ran 5:02. Leah Krause and Rebekah Priddy rounded out the Racers as Krause ran a personal best 5:10 and Priddy ran 5:16.
In the 3000 meters, Korir took third with a time of 9:57. Hester was next to finish for the Racers as she placed sixth with a time of 10:08. Bohn (10:13) and Smith (10:22) rounded out the pack for MSU.
In the 55 meter finals, Tamdra Lawrence finished third in the event as she ran 6.96. Her time is fourth all-time at MSU. Lawrence also made the final for the 200 meters. She set a new personal record as she finished in third with a time of 24.36.
In final for the 55 meter hurdles, Jabreuna Brimlett finished sixth with a time of 8.12. Taylor McCammon finished in eighth place with a time of 8.24.
The Racers had two athletes score in the pole vault. Emily Heil finished in eighth with personal best vault of 3.20 meters. Chleo LeGrand finished in sixth place just off her season best height as she vaulted 3.35 meters.
Emma Gilmore finished in eighth with a time of 2:17 in the 800 meter finals.
In the 4x400 meter relay, the team of Anna Curlin, Jocelyn Payne, Tia Weston and Lawrence finished fourth with a time of 3:52.
Jill Jachino competed in the triple jump as she jumped a new personal best 11.82 meters. She placed ninth in the event. Her jump ranks sixth all time are Murray State.
Christina Meinhardt competed in the shot put for the Racers. The freshman threw a personal best 12.76 meters which ranks eighth all-time at MSU.
This meet concludes the Racers indoor track season. The team's first outdoor meet is March 25 at Vanderbilt.
