Racers Finish Weekend with Eleven Top-Ten Finishes

The Murray State women's track and field team competed in the second day of the Western Kentucky Hilltopper Relays on Saturday. The Racers had ten top-ten finishes for the day and one top-ten finish the first day of competition.
Freshman Tamdra Lawrence accounted for two of the top-ten finishes for the day. Lawrence competed in the 100Â meters for the first time this season. She finished in fifth place with a time of 12.03. She also placed sixth in the 200 meters with a time of 24.86.
Anna Curlin set a new personal record in the 400 meters. Curlin finished seventh in the event as she finished with a time of 57.22.
Tia Weston finished ninth in the 800 meters. The junior ran 2:15 in the event Her time is a new personal best and ranks ninth all-time at Murray State. Emani Griffin also set a personal record in the event as she finished with a time of 2:16.Â
Vallery Korir won fourth in the 1,500 meters as she finished with a time of 4:39.
Freshmen Jabreuna Brimlett finished second in the 100 meter hurdles. Brimlett ran just off her personal best as she finished with a time of 14.11. Lauren Miller also competed in the event. Miller set a new personal record as she ran 15.12.
Rebekah Priddy finished fourth in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. Priddy finished with a time of 11:02. Her time is a personal best and ranks fourth all-time in program history. Ali Hester competed in the event unattached. Hester finished in third with a time of 10:59. Her time ranks third among the all-time best at MSU and is a personal best for Hester.
The 4 x 100 meter relay made up of Brimlett, Curlin, Lawrence, and Jocelyn Payne finished in sixth with a time of 48.32.
Taylor Horton tied for seventh in the high jump. She cleared 1.55 meters (5' 1.25").
Jill Jachino placed seventh in the triple jump. The senior jumped 11.44 meters (37'6.5") in the event.
The Racers are back in action Tuesday as they travel to Walnut, California for the Mt. Sac Relays.
