Racers Go Wire-To-Wire For Win Over Lipscomb

The Murray State women's basketball team never trailed and led by as many as 37 in a convincing 97-61 win over Lipscomb Tuesday night at the CFSB Center in Murray, Kentucky.
The Racers (3-1) came out of the gate with a smothering defense that held Lipscomb (2-3) to just two field goals and eight total points in the first quarter. While Murray State continued to clamp down on defense on one end of the court, they lit up the scoreboard on the other throughout the game, shooting 50.7-percent from the floor and 53.8-percent from 3-point range. The Racers were also near perfect at the free throw line going 13-for-16 on the night.
Macey Turley scored a game-high 21 points, while Lex Mayes followed with 16. Evelyn Adebayo was just one board from a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds, while Cekeya Mack had the first double-digit point performance of her career with 10.
The Racers will now take a week off for the Thanksgiving holiday before travelling to Arkansas State next Tuesday.
