Racers Compete In Austin Peay Invite

The Murray State women's track and field team competed Friday at the Austin Peay Invitational in Clarksville, Tenn.
"After the change in days for the meet I think the group who traveled did well competing  through a tough training schedule. We were glad to see athletes compete for the first time this outdoor season. Tamdra  got a good 100-meter time in for this time of year that we hope qualifies her for the NCAA first rounds," said head coach Adam Kiesler after the meet.
100-Meter Dash
Tamdra  Lawrence came away with a second place finish in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.52, good for a season-best. Her previous best this season was 12.08 at the Texas Relays.
D'Myia Thornton placed 15th with a time of 12.57, a season-best. Her previous best time came at the Margret Simmons Invite.
Taylor McCammon came in 16th with a time of 12.79.
200-Meter Dash
Thornton placed 21st in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.81, another season best set at Austin Peay by a Racer. Her previous best time in the 200-meter race was 26.73.
Aubrey Main finished  with  a time of 26.27.
800-Meter Run
Amanda Parker led the way for Murray State in the 800-meter run with a 12th place finish and a time of 2:30.67. Parker set a season-best, besting her time of 2:31.60 set at the Island Meet.
Mallory Unverfehrt placed 17th with a time of 2:32.87.
1500-Meter Run
Parker ran the fastest time for the Racers in the 1500-meter run with a 12th place finish and a time of 5:07.03.
Katelyn Gilbert came away with a time of 5:40.06 in the event.
5000-Meter Run
Rebekah Priddy finished in the top-five with a fourth-place finish in the 5000-meter run with a time of 18:20.04.
Ida Mutai finished in sixth place with a time of 18:44.19.
100-Meter Hurdles
Aubrey Main placed eight in the 100-meter hurdles at Austin Peay, finishing with a time of 15.70.
High Jump
Main placed third in the High Jump with a mark of 1.63m (5'4.25'').
Pole Vault
Emily Heil finished with a mark of 3.41m (11'2.25'') to set a new season best. Her previous season best was 3.35 at the Island Meet.
Long Jump
McCammon placed sixth in the long jump with a mark of 5.39m (17' 8.75'').
Shot Put
Destiny Carey finished third in the shot put with a mark of 13.27m (43' 6.25'') to set a collegiate PR and an OVC Top-10 finish.
Jewel Wagner finished in sixth place with a mark of 12.56m (41' 2.50'') for a new season best. Her previous best of 12.05m was set at the Margaret Simons Invite.
Christina Meinhardt placed seventh with a mark of 11.70m (38' 4.75'').
Discus Throw
Meinhardt placed fifth for the Racers, finishing with a mark of 34.73m (113' 11'').
Carey was next up with a sixth-place finish, good for a mark of 34.26m (112' 5'').

The Racers prepare for the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta, Ga., hosted by Georgia Tech from Friday, April 20 to Saturday, April 21.Â
