The Murray State Racers (12-2, 3-0 OVC) play game two of a four-game Ohio Valley Conference road swing Saturday at the  Show Me Center when they face the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks (6-10, 1-2 OVC). The game is the second game of a doubleheader with the MSU women's team taking on SEMO at 2 p.m. with the men's game scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
Froggy 103 (WFGS 103.7 FM) airs every MSU game with "Voice of the Racers" Neal Bradley calling the action in his 28th season. Former MSU assistant coach Kenny Roth provides commentary. Froggy103.com and GoRacers.com has free online streaming audio. The game can also be seen online at ESPN+.
After Thursday's 98-77 win at UTM, the Racers have won four in a row since a loss (Dec. 22) at Auburn and have won 8-of-10. In OVC play, MSU has won 14 consecutive league regular season games and seven road games dating back to their last loss at Belmont in 2018.
In the second half of their win at UTM, the records that were either falling or being threatened on the MSU and OVC level, were coming fast as the Racers drilled the Skyhawks with 53 percent shooting (36-of-69) and 48 percent (15-of-31) 3-point shooting. Add in a season-low eight turnovers and the Racers were well on their way to a 3-0 start in OVC play. Ja Morant set the MSU record with 18 assists at UTM and was only two off the OVC record. Morant had another highlight reel dunk with about seven minutes left in the game and it was the second time that he has made the ESPN SportsCenter top play this season. Tevin Brown scored a career-high 31 points tied the MSU mark with nine 3-point baskets. Shaq Buchanan tied his career high with 21 points and continues to make a strong case to become OVC Defensive Player of the Year. Buchanan is tops in the OVC and 22nd in NCAA D-I with an average of 2.31 steals per game.Â
The Racers are 6-2 against SEMO since 2011 and are 5-3 in games at the Show Me Center.
Next week, the Racers hit the road for games at Eastern Illinois and SIUE, before hosting Belmont (Jan. 24).
