Racers Host Bellarmine In First Meeting
The Murray State Racers take on the Bellarmine Knights in the first meeting between the two in a 7 p.m. tip time for the Saturday (Nov. 13) opener at the CFSB Center in Murray, Ky. It took the Racers to get to their 97th season and the Knights to get to their 71st season for the two to face off for the first time. The Knights out of Louisville are in their second season in NCAA D-I and placed second in the 2020-21 season in the Atlantic Sun Conference. They have been picked fourth this the A-Sun preseason predictions. The Knights competed in NCAA D-II as a founding member of the Great Lakes Conference from 1978-2020.
The Bank - In Its 24th Season
Since the CFSB Center was opened with a win over Southern Illinois in 1998, the Racers have enjoyed one of the best home court advantages in the game. In the 24th season of the arena formerly known as the Regional Special Events Center, "The Bank" has seen the Racers post a 287-49 (.854) record including a 115-17 (.871) record in non-conference games. In the Coach Matt McMahon era, the Racers are 74-15 (.831) at home. Last season, the Racers completed a 25-game win streak that lasted nearly two years. The all-time home win streak for the Racers is still the 47-game run that started in 1996 and closed out the final 30 games at Racer Arena and opened the new arena by winning the first 17 games in 2000. The streak was snapped by Southeast Missouri on Jan. 15, 2000.
MSU Third In OVC Preseason Poll
The 2021-22 OVC men's basketball poll shows Belmont, Morehead State and Murray State in the top-3 as the season gets underway. It's the first time the Racers haven't been picked first or second since 2011 when they were picked third and then became the national story when they started the season 23-0 under rookie head coach Steve Prohm. The Racers won three OVC titles in a row from 2018-20. Murray State's returning 1,000-point scorers, Tevin Brown and KJ Williams were each named to the All-OVC Preseason Team.

MSU Hall of Fame Weekend
All of Racer Nation is recognizing the class of 2021 to the MSU Hall of Fame - presented by the Murray Bank this weekend.The class will be on the court at halftime of Saturday's game. The class includes a pair of Racer Basketball greats in Coach Tevester Anderson (1995-03) and Vincent Rainey (1993-97). The rest of the class includes Shane Andrus (football 2000-02), Martyn Brewer (track & field 1974-78), Eric Crigler (football, 1985-89), Marra Hastings (rifle (1997-00), Delaney Howson (women's golf 2010-14) and Scottie Ingram (volleyball 2013-16). The class will also be honored at the football game Saturday when the Racers host Southeast Missouri at 1 p.m. at Roy Stewart Stadium. The induction dinner is Friday night at the CFSB Center.
Racers Selected For Two Home Games On ESPNU
The Murray State men's basketball is hosting a pair of televised home games on ESPNU as announced by the Ohio Valley Conference for the 2021-22 season. The Racers will appear on ESPNU (Feb. 17) when they host the Austin Peay Governors at the CFSB Center in a 6 p.m. tip. The second game happens at home (Feb. 24) against the Belmont Bruins in a tip off of 8 p.m. Both of the TV games for the Racers come on Thursday nights. The OVC schedule has a total of nine total men's basketball televised games (six regular season contests and three OVC Tournament games) to be aired by one of the ESPN networks during the 2021-22 season. This includes three nights of coverage at the OVC Tournament (March 4-5) at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana.
Mini-Ticket Plans Available
Fans can purchase season tickets and the Navy & Gold Mini ticket plans at Racer Mania. The mini plans are a great way for Racer Nation to enjoy Murray State games with general admission tickets. Each mini plan is $50 for one general admission ticket to five games. All of the games offered in the ticket plans are doubleheaders except for the stand-alone men's game vs Middle Tennessee (Dec. 4). Call the ticket office at (270) 809-3000 to purchase a ticket plan.
