The Game
The Murray State women's basketball team travels to Birmingham, Alabama Saturday in search of its sixth straight win. Tip-off between MSU and Samford is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Pete Hanna Center.
Series At A Glance
Saturday will be the 11th meeting all-time between the Racers and the Bulldogs with Murray State leading the all-time series, 6-4. However, despite the lead in the overall series, Samford leads 3-1 in Birmingham. The two teams have not met in Birmingham since 2007, but the Bulldogs did win the last meeting in the series, 84-56, in Murray.
Scouting The Bulldogs
Currently 5-1 on the season, Samford enters Saturday trying to snap a five-game skid that includes a tough 65-61 loss at Troy Wednesday.
The Bulldogs are currently averaging 58.0 points on 40.3-percent shooting with 33.4 rebounds per game, while their opponents average 68.3 points on 41.0-percent shooting with 38.3 rebounds per game.
Andrea Cournoyer currently leads the Bulldogs with 17.4 points per game, while Shauntai battle follows at 9.1 points per game and Annie Ramil leads on the glass at 6.1 rebounds per game.
A Win Would...
A win Saturday would give the Racers their most regular-season non-conference road wins since the 2004-05 season, when MSU won four.
None Better
Shooting 74.0-percent from the field on the year, Katelyn Young currently leads all of Division I in field goal percentage.

A Perfect Evening
Katelyn Young went 10-for-10 from the field on Tuesday to become the first Racer in program history to ever do so in a single game.
A Quick Study
Tuesday's win was No. 60 in her career for head coach Rechelle Turner, allowing her to pass Dew Drop Rowlett on the program's all-time win list. She is also now the second-fastest coach in Racer women's basketball history to reach 60 wins, doing so in 124 games. Bud Childers was the fastest Racer head coach to reach 60 games, as he did it in 113.
Making Them Count
Tuesday marked just the 11 time in program history that the Racers have scored more than 30 free throws in a game. MSU got to the line 38 times Tuesday and made 31 on those attempts for 81.6-percent.
Welcome To The Club
With 29 points Tuesday, Macey Turley passed Stephanie Minor to enter the top 10 all-time in scoring in Murray State history. Turley currently has 1,417 and needs just five points to pass Hall of Famer Jackie Mounts and take over ninth.
