The Murray State women's basketball team hosts current OVC leader UT Martin for the second of its final four consecutive home games of the season Saturday at The Bank. Â Tip-off from the CFSB Center in Murray, Kentucky is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. and will air live on ESPN+, WBZB 104.5 FM and the Zeno Radio app.
Series At A Glance
Saturday will be the 88th meeting between Murray State and UT Martin with the Skyhawks leading the overall series, 52-36, but tied with the Racers in game played in Murray at 20 each.
Scouting The Skyhawks
After a close win over Austin Peay Friday, UT Martin is now 13-4 overall, 12-2 in the OVC and alone at the top of the conference standings. Since the last meeting with the Racers in January in Martin, the Skyhawks have gone 9-1 with lone loss coming by four at home to Tennessee Tech.
Saturday's match-up at The Bank will be a showcase of the leagues two best offenses with the Skyhawks averaging 69.8 points per game and the Racers averaging 71.1. UT Martin currently limits opponents to 61.5 points per game and a 37.1 shooting percentage, while shooting 46.5-percent from the floor themselves.
Senior Chelsey Perry currently leads the Skyhawks, the OVC and is fourth in the nation in scoring at 25.7 points per game. Perry also leads UTM in rebounding on the year with 8.0 boards per game, while Dasia Young follows at 6.0 per game.
A Win Saturday Would...
A win Saturday would give the Racers their first win over the Skyhawks in five tries and would be a bright spot in a series dominated by UTM since the 2010-11 season. Since that season UT Martin has won 22 games in the series, while the Racers have won just for. Head coach Rechelle Turner owns one of those four wins as her 2018-19 team topped the Skyhawks in Murray, 76-73, on Feb. 21, 2019.
Top Of The Charts
Macey Turley scored 28 points in Friday's win over Southeast Missouri, which is now the most points scored by a Racer this season. The previous high was 27 by Katelyn Young which had held since Dec. 5 against Indiana State.
Going Up
Prior to last Saturday at EKU, the Racers had averaged just 65.7 points per game in conference play this season. However, in the last two games the Racers have scored 82 and 81 points, raising their league scoring average to 67.9.

Building A Legacy
Still in her junior season, Macey Turley has already cemented her place among Racer elite by joining the 1,000 point club earlier this season. In addition to being the 13th leading scorer in program history with 1,168 points, she is also sixth in 3-pointers made with 135, eighth in free throws made with 313 and tenth in assists at 311. She is now one of just players in Racer history, along with current assistant Amber Guffey, to score 1,000 points, make 300 free throws, tally 300 assists and make 125 3-pointers.
