Racers Face Monday Game At SIUE
Having won their last three games and six of their last eight, the Murray State Racers (11-9, 8-7) meet the SIUE Cougars (8-11, 6-7) Monday in a 4 p.m. tip at the First Community Arena in Edwardsville, Illinois. The SIUE game marks the final team MSU has not played yet this season from the OVC. Because of established protocols, the game is being played Monday. That means game two with the Cougars will come soon. SIUE will visit the Racers next week for game on Saturday (Feb. 20) on MSU's final home game. The Racers have won their last 13 meetings with SIUE since their last loss at the First Community Arena in 2014.

Â
Racers In National Rankings
With their first three-game win streak of the season and a pair of 80-point scores in wins over UT Martin and Southeast Missouri, the Racers are making shots about as good as anyone in NCAA D-I. MSU is ninth in the nation with a team field goal percentage of 50 percent and they're 15th with 17.2 assists per game.
Â
MSU's Dynamic Duo - Brown and Williams
When Tevin Brown and KJ Williams are each playing at the top of their game, OVC opponents want no part of the Racers. After a slow start in league play, the Racers are looking at a mid-seed at the OVC Tournament, but you can bet there are no OVC teams that are looking forward to being paired with MSU in a first game. Against UT Martin on Saturday, Brown scored a season-high 25 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the 3-point line for his fifth career game of six or more 3-pointers. He also added six rebounds and three assists. KJ Williams once again threatened the CFSB Center record with 16 rebounds (the record is 18). In two games against SEMO and UTM, Brown and Williams combined to score 36 points per game on 58 percent shooting from the floor (25-of-43) and 47 percent from 3-point range (9-of-19) and they averaged 18 rebounds per game. Brown joined the MSU 1000-Point Club in December and is now one of 32 players that have scored 1,200 career points. Williams enters the SIUE with 957 points and is ready to be the 48th member of the MSU club.

OVC Tournament Just Around the Corner
Scheduled for March 3-6, it will be the fourth-straight year the OVC has staged the championship at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana. The OVC has contingency plans in the event a full conference schedule cannot be completed. If a full conference slate isn't completed, the merit-based bracket will be replaced by a traditional format (No. 1 vs. No. 8, No. 2 vs. No. 7, etc.) for this year only. The move was endorsed by the OVC's Council of Directors of Athletics and approved by the OVC Board of Presidents.
