The Game
The Murray State women's basketball team travels to Eastern Kentucky Saturday in search of a crucial OVC win as it begins its final seven games of the season. Tip-off at Memorial Coliseum in  Richmond is set for 1 p.m. ET/12 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on ESPN+, WNBS 97.9 FM and the Zeno Radio app.
Series At A Glance
Saturday will be the 93rd meeting between Murray State and Eastern Kentucky with the Colonels leading the overall series, 58-34 and the series in Richmond, 26-14. However, the Racers have been on a roll in the series as of late, winning each of the last five meetings.
Scouting The Colonels
After a loss to Tennessee Tech last Thursday, Eastern Kentucky enters Thursday's contest at 6-9 overall and 5-6 in OVC play. The Colonels are currently being outscored by an average of 9.2 points per game, 69.7-60.5.
One strength for the Colonels, however, is their ability to defend the 3-pointer, as they are currently second in the OVC and are 22nd in the nation by limiting opponents to just 25.1-percent shooting from behind-the-arc.
Jayla Johnson currently leads the scoring attack for Eastern Kentucky at 11.0 point each, while Alice Recanti and Kendall Wingler follow at 9.5 and 9.1 points, respectively.
On the glass, the Colonels are almost even with their opponents this season at 36.7 rebounds per game, compared to 39.8 by opponents. Individually, Johnson currently leads the rebounding efforts for EKU at 4.8 per game, while Recanti follows at 4.7.
A Win Saturday Would...
A win Saturday would give the Racers their fifth road win of the season, a high for the Rechelle Turner era, as well as an OVC road weekend sweep which would be a first for the Turner era.
A Dominating Performance
The Racers recorded one of their more complete performances of the season Thursday at Morehead State. Murray State shot 50.0 from the floor, hit the 50.0-percent mark for just the second time this season in addition to holding the Eagles to the lowest scoring output of the season by an opponent at 54.
Leave No Doubt
With a 16 point victory over Morehead State Thursday, the Racers have now had five of their nine wins on the season come by 10 points or more. In fact, none of MSU wins this season have under a six-point margin.
Seize The Day...Game
Saturday the Racers will be looking to put an end to an odd bit of futility this year. Currently, the Racers are 0-5 on the season in games that start before 4 p.m. local time.
