Racers To Head To Lexington For Final Tune-Up Before OVC Championships

Murray State will compete in the Kentucky Invitational April 30-May 1 in Lexington, Ky.
The Murray State women's track & field program will travel to Lexington, Kentucky for its final meet of the regular season, the Kentucky Invitational.
This will be the Racers final tune-up before the OVC Outdoor Championships on May 13th-15th in Charleston, Illinois.
"We look forward to this weekend as our regular season comes to an end. This is the time we look for things to start coming together. The competition will be amazing and we are excited to be able to use that to help better ourselves. We always talk about competing and giving you effort and if we do that I think we will be happy when we get on the bus Saturday afternoon to head home," said Head Coach Adam Kiesler.
MEET INFO
The Kentucky Invitational will be a two-day meet, starting Friday, April 30 at 2:00 p.m. with the women's hammer throw and continue on Saturday, May 1. The first field event, shot put, will begin at 12:30 p.m. with the running events getting underway at 12 p.m., starting with the 4x100m relay and finishing with the 4x400m relay at 4:50 p.m.

Friday, April 30: The UK Outdoor Track & Field Complex will open for spectators at 1 p.m. Field events are scheduled from 2-4 p.m. and track events from 4-6 p.m.
Saturday, May 1: The Complex will open for spectators at 11 a.m. Field events are slated from 12:30 to 2 p.m. while track events go from noon to 4 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Despite not-ideal weather conditions last week at Louisville's Clark Wood Open, fourteen athletes set new PRs and saw several athletes posted all-time top-10 program performances.
Jenna Pauly won her first career OVC Female Field Athlete of the Week for her performance in the pole vault. She set a new personal record with her height of 3.68m, putting her second in Murray State's record books. The mark is third best in the OVC.
Rachel Hagans set a two new PRs, jumping a mark of 5.94m in the long jump to put her eighth on Murray State's all-time list and she ran a 12.05 in the 100m dash.
Kenia Seals won her second-straight 100m dash and in the 200m, both Teliyah James and Jumiya Denning set new personal bests.
In the distance events, seven athletes recorded PRs. Jessica Stein, Zarra Humphry, Emma Creviston, Ashley Zimmerman and Dani Wright, Breanna Day and Sophie Grogan all ran PRs.
Murray State has two performances that rank among the top 50 in the nation after six weeks of competition. The 4x100m relay is 33rd in the East Region. The team of Jumyia Denning, Teliyah James, Lucia Herrero-Yanez and Kenia Seals broke the Murray State program with a time of 45.14.
Meghan Fletcher is 41st in the high jump with her PR-mark of 1.73m, set at the SIUC Bill Cornell Invite.
